Elixir - a local lounge in Green Valley will screen the original 1968 George Romero horror zombie classic, “Night of the Living Dead” at a special Halloween edition of “Brewvies” on Monday, Oct. 27 at midnight. The special Halloween “Brewvie” night will be hosted by Las Vegas Weekly's movie critic Josh Bell. There will be no cover for the party and free popcorn.

Shark Reef Aquarium Haunted Reef

At Shark Reef Aquarium's Haunted Reef inside Mandalay Bay, Halloween and Dia de los Muertos will come together for a frighteningly good weekend. On Friday, Oct. 31 the Haunted Reef will host its annual community day. Kids ages 12 and under who dress up in a Halloween costume, as well as any adults who donate blood at the designated United Blood Services booth, will gain free admission to the aquarium. The weekend will continue with trick or treating, decorations and events that pay tribute to Dia de los Muertos.

Wes Winters will get a late start performing in the Grandview Lounge at the South Point on Halloween Oct. 31. It will be party time with prizes being given away for best costume.

Dance troupe Jabbawockeez at the Luxor will celebrate Halloween with a special 4 p.m. matinee performance of “PRiSM” on Friday, Oct. 31. Complimentary candy will be provided to guests arriving in costume and T-shirts will be awarded to the best costumes.

Rockhouse in The Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian is hosting a Freaky Friday Halloween party on Oct. 31 with a grand total of $1,000 in prizes being given out throughout the night. There will be two contests - a costume bull riding contest at 9 p.m. with $500 worth of prizes, and a costume contest at 11 p.m. with $500 in prizes going to the best costume in the house.

Fright Dome at Circus Circus annually is a nationally top-ranked haunted attraction and open 7 p.m.-midnight, through Oct. 31 on select nights.

Hakkasan Nightclub at MGM Grand will transform into the Forbidden City where a sultry Empress will reward patrons wearing the sexiest attire with cash prizes.

The Bank at Bellagio will host an Instagram contest with a chance to win $40,000. DJ Pauly D will make a special, spooky appearance there on Saturday, Nov. 1.

Hyde Bellagio will transform into a frightening fantasyland with three nights of Halloween events. On Tuesday, Oct. 28, Hyde will team up with Fright Dome to transform the weekly Lost Angels Industry Night into a night fright. On Oct. 30, it will be Hyde's Halloween Masquerade and on Oct. 31 All Hallows' Eve with Hyde in the Dark and party-goers encouraged to dress spooky and sexy.

THE JFK EXHIBITION COMES TO THE NEW TROPICANA

On the 51st anniversary of President John F. Kennedy's assassination, Nov. 22, 2014, “The JFK Exhibition” will open at The New Tropicana and introduce an exposition of artifacts through Jan. 3. The exhibit will feature some of the most iconic memorabilia, including two JFK limousines, a Boeing 707 Air Force One fuselage outfitted exactly the way it appeared on Nov. 22, 1963, and personal items belonging to the president and Jacqueline Kennedy that will be on display for the first time ever in America.

“The JFK Exhibition: Experience His Life and Legacy” is the work of one man, Jim Warlick, who has spent a lifetime collecting presidential artifacts. In 2002, he opened his presidential museum in Branson, Mo., and subsequently took his American Presidential Exhibition on tour across America, showcasing items such as a replica of the Oval Office, First Ladies' gowns and over 500 presidential items. The exhibition in Las Vegas will feature his largest collection of a single president's memorabilia to date.

Supported locally by LasVegasSun.com, “The JFK Exhibition” will also feature several items from the archives of Greenspun Media Group and Las Vegas Sun on JFK's connection with Las Vegas. In addition, knowledgeable guides will be available to give tours and answer questions.

THE BUZZ ABOUT TOWN

Elton John, the 67-year-old legend, will stay on as a resident headliner in the Colosseum at Caesars Palace for three more years.

The buzz last week was that Jennifer Lopez is reportedly signing a multi-million dollar deal to headline a 72-gig deal over a two-year period with Planet Hollywood where Britney Spears currently performs her show.

Frankie Moreno will perform his final show at the Stratosphere on Dec. 20 where he has held court since Nov. 9, 2011. Over the past three years, he and his 10-piece band have wowed audiences. Moreno will leave to pursue new opportunities nationwide.

Upcoming shows at The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan include: Kid Cudi Nov. 7; The Black Keys with special guest Jake Bugg Nov. 8; Amy Schumer Dec. 6; and Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga Dec. 31.

VEGAS MUSIC SUMMIT ANNOUNCES ARTISTS AND KEYNOTE SPEAKER

The 2014 Vegas Music Summit (VMS) will take place Nov. 13 and 14 downtown and kick off with Vans Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman appearing as keynote speaker. The two-day event will also host artist performances, industry panels and special events at multiple venues throughout the area.

The conference will feature live performances by dozens of notable and emerging acts including Hot Water Music and The Flatliners, and will host industry panels featuring some of the most influential people from the music and tech industries. VMS participants include music executives from major and indie record labels, producers, booking agents, promoters, managers, attorneys and music publishers.

Participating downtown venues include: El Cortez Hotel, Backstage Bar, Beauty Bar, Commonwealth, Fremont Country Club and Park on Fremont. JW MARRIOTT AND RAMPART CASINO COMMEMORATE 15TH ANNIVERSARY

JEFF BRIDGES RETURNS TO LAS VEGAS FOR RECORD ‘LIVE’ RELEASE

Following two sold-out shows in June 2014, Jeff Bridges & The Abiders will return to Red Rock Resort for a live performance and album release party of their new record “Live” on Friday, Nov. 14 at 8 p.m. Recorded during his previous performances at Red Rock, Jeff Bridges & The Abiders' new 14-track album “Live” was released last month and features live recordings of songs from his debut album “Be Here Soon,” as well as his self-titled follow up, original music from the critically-acclaimed film “Crazy Heart” and some of Bridges' favorite chosen covers. HAMMARGRENS HOST 19TH ANNUAL NEVADA DAY OPEN HOUSE

Former Nevada Lt. Governor Lonnie Hammargren, M.D., and his wife, Sandy, will host their annual Nevada Day Open House on Nov. 1 and 2 from noon-5 p.m. each day. The Hammargren Home of Nevada History is located off Flamingo and Sandhill Road at 4318 Ridgecrest Drive. The famous residence will be open to the public for house tours and offer non-stop live entertainment. At the door, admission is $15 and free for children under 12. Proceeds will benefit The Mid-East Memorial Wall.

The public is invited to a free eclectic jazz journey with the Allegato World Jazz quartet Sunday, Nov. 9, at 7 p.m. in the Sammy Davis Jr. Festival Plaza in Lorenzi Park. The quartet, featuring Allison Adams-Tucker, will perform songs from Japan, Italy, France, Cuba, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, and the United States, in six different languages. Their world mix of Latin rhythms, swing, funk, ballads, and gypsy jazz make for a diverse multicultural musical experience. ‘MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET’ STAR MARTIN KAYE PERFORMS AT ART SQUARE

The star in “Million Dollar Quartet” at Harrah's who plays Jerry Lee Lewis and recording artist Martin Kaye will bring his distinct showmanship and brand new show “Should've Been A Doctor” to Art Square for one night only on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 7:30 p.m. Backed by his band, Kaye will take audiences on the whimsical journey through the life of a musician, sharing personal experiences through his electric style on the piano. The performance will blend original compositions exclusively written for the show, featured songs from his two previously released albums and renditions of fan favorites. Bush's debut album in 1994 “Sixteen Stone” went six-times-platinum and initiated the band's rise to fame, followed by the release of “Razorblade Suitcase,” which landed the No. 1 spot on Billboard's rock chart. Their latest album “Man on the Run” was released in August.

American indie-rock band The Airborne Toxic Event debuted its self-titled album in 2008. Hailing from Oregon, Priory is an electro-pop duo signed with Warner Bros. Records. Brandon Rush and Kyle Sears came together to release their debut EP this month. American singer-songwriter Meg Myers signed to Atlantic Records in 2012 and has since released two EPs, “Daughter In The Choir” and “Make a Shadow.”

FIGHT CHAMPION CHRIS ALGIERI TRAINS AT THE PALAZZO®

Undefeated light welterweight world champion Chris Algieri is training in a custom gym at The Palazzo through Nov. 13 for his upcoming fight against Fighter of the Decade and defending WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao. Algieri is giving boxing fans the chance to watch his training sessions on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon. On Tuesday nights fans can hear how training is going when Algieri speaks with The Palazzo's Ken Thomson on Yahoo Sports Radio from 7 to 7:30 p.m. The broadcast is live from Lagasse's Stadium.

The Clash in Cotai II: Pacquiao vs Algieri will take place Sunday, Nov. 23 (Saturday, Nov. 22, in the United States) at The Venetian Macao's Cotai Arena. CULINARY DROPOUT AT HARD ROCK PROMOTES MOVEMBER MOVEMENT

Culinary Dropout inside Hard Rock will acknowledge the global Movember movement to raise awareness and funds for men's health issues. Mo Bros and Mo Sistas can show support by stopping by the restaurant throughout November to take a photo in front of a backdrop decorated with popular moustache styles. Faux ‘staches will be provided as well. Photos will be uploaded to the Culinary Dropout Facebook “Movember Movement 2014” album daily and a $1 will be donated to the Movember Foundation for every photo posted and an additional dollar will be donated for every tag on the Facebook page.

Uncle Joe's Pizza at 505 Fremont Street closed its doors for good this month after 18 years.

Fulton Street Food Hall is a new 24-hour daily, 250-seat, chef-driven marketplace at Harrah's. The 12,000-square-foot food hall has a New Orleans street theme and is decorated in purple and gold. The dining experience allows patrons to shop at different stations before checking out and offers a sit-down breakfast, bakery, salad station, noodle bar, pizza station, sushi bar, and more.

From Nov. 1-30, Crossroads at House of Blues inside Mandalay Bay will hold a Feed the Souls Food Drive where guests can donate non-perishable food items and receive 20 percent off their food bill. Each guest must donate at least one item in order for the entire table to receive discount. Diners who donate will also be entered into the Thanks-For-Giving raffle to win a pair of tickets to select November shows.

Cabo Wabo Cantina inside Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood will recognize Veterans Day with a buy-one, get-one-free drink special exclusively on Tuesday, Nov. 11.

Mercadito at Red Rock Resort will celebrate the Mexican tradition of death and rebirth with Dia de los Muertos by offering new dishes created especially for the holiday by chef and partner Patricio Sandoval, as well as a special libation crafted by Tippling Bros.

Tacos & Tequila (T&T) at the Luxor will celebrate Dia de los Muertos from Oct. 31 through Saturday, Nov. 1 with specialty dishes, cocktails and a full-on fiesta on Saturday hosted by the sexy ladies of the show “FANTASY” and with a DJ spinning from 7 to 10 p.m. Plus, the ladies of FANTASY will judge a photo booth “best costumed picture” contest, awarding the winner dinner for two at T&T, FANTASY tickets and a one-night stay at Luxor. 17° SOUTH AT TAHITI VILLAGE HAS NEW FALL MENU ITEMS

The tropical new restaurant 17° South inside Tahiti Village will soon have new fall menu specials and an expanded Open To Close Locals Happy Hour drink menu for locals only.

Prime Rib Saturdays will be available from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. beginning Nov. 8 for $17.95. The special includes a complimentary well cocktail, domestic draft beer or glass of wine and a 12 oz. cut of beef prime rib served with garlic mashed potatoes and farm-fresh vegetables.

The restaurant will also introduce Chef John Gremo's homemade New England Clam “Chowda” beginning Saturday, Nov. 1, which will be available daily by the cup for $5 or as an entrée in a fresh bread bowl for $10.

Jeff Meyer and Shannon Knapp, leaders of two highly respected, nationally recognized mixed martial arts organizations, Tuff-N-Uff and Invicta Fighting Championship, respectively, are joining forces to award two female “Future Stars of MMA” a coveted multi-fight Invicta FC contract.

Four female featherweights and four female lightweights are set to square off on Tuff-N-Uff's upcoming card Friday, Nov. 7 live from the Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas.
