LAS VEGAS HARLEY-DAVIDSON® NOW OPEN ON LAS VEGAS STRIP

The new Las Vegas Harley-Davidson® has opened on the Strip just steps away from the Welcome to Las Vegas sign. The new store will commemorate its free public grand opening with an all-day celebration and custom motorcycle raffle on Saturday, Nov. 1.

Kicking-off at noon, the festivities will include appearances by professional dirt track riders, Jared and Nichole Mees, plus live performances by magician Seth Grabel, blues musician Michael Ubaldini and country singer Sierra Black. There will also be local food trucks on hand.

The fundraising raffle will be for a 2014 FLHX Harley-Davidson Street Glide®, created to celebrate Nevada's 150th anniversary and it's signed by the state's Governor Brian Sandoval. Raffle tickets are $150.

Under one roof, the 65,000-square-foot venue features a dealership, rental services, retail shop, service center and riding academy. Visitors can also stop in the store's “Recharge Zone” convenience store to hydrate, cool-off and enjoy complimentary wireless Internet access. In addition, this store also owns and operates Red Rock Harley-Davidson and Zion Harley-Davidson.

WHIST STOVE AND SPIRITS IS NEW DINING EXPERIENCE AT THE DISTRICT

Whist Stove and Spirits is a new restaurant at The District in Green Valley Ranch with a modern American menu designed for sharing. It is the first Henderson venture for Ryan Doherty, Justin Weniger and Kenna Warner, who own Commonwealth and Park on Fremont in downtown Las Vegas and BLVD. Cocktail Company at The LINQ.

Designed by Doherty and Hayley Hunter, the 3,000-square-foot restaurant is bright, colorful and eclectic. There's a quaint patio framed by a year-round garden at the entryway and big doors that open up to the outside. An oversized bar is situated in the center of the dining room and framed by semi-barrel vaulted white brick ceilings on each side, with living room-style seating on one side and a display wine cellar and more traditional dining room on the other. There's plush seating upholstered in mixed patterns and extra-large crystal chandeliers above the bar and chic maroon drapery adorning each pillar in the room. The brightly lit walls are decorated with surrealist imagery by several artists. A mural by Cass Fuller featuring a woman from a classic cigar box lines the entire back wall of the center room.

Whist is open 24-hours a day offering breakfast, lunch, dinner and late-night dining, along with a playful weekend brunch.

HARTLAND MANSION UNVEILS MILLION-DOLLAR REMODEL

After a three-month, million-dollar renovation, the changes and enhancements to the famous Hartland Mansion, which include the newly installed Toni Hart “Garden of Angels” honoring their late mother, have been unveiled. The garden features a life-size angel statue and 100 hand-signed ceramic angels positioned throughout and greenery surrounding a Victorian-inspired Gazebo. For the past 30 years, Hartland Mansion has been a premier event location playing host to countless weddings, Bar Mitzvahs, social and corporate events, filming, etc.

Among the hundreds of renovated and restored details, a standout is a Christos and Jeanne-Claude-inspired art installation…“The Beauty of Light” featuring 36 crystal chandeliers with 8,900 crystal drops, hung under the porches of the sprawling estate, which in length is 50 feet shy of a football field. Italian wicker and Moroccan tile outdoor furniture and a gilded front door with 19,000 Swarovski Crystals add more glamour.

Among the many new art installations are “A Field of Possibilities” mural; hand-beaded carousel horses by American folk artist Larry Cardinal; “Hearts Take Flight” featuring hand-painted hearts and butterflies created by the Children of Nevada Children's Center; and a Joan Miro exhibit.

COMEDIAN TOM WILSON PERFORMS AT THE LAUGH FACTORY

Top comedian Tom Wilson will take over The Laugh Factory stage at the Tropicana for a four-night visit and working alongside him will be Andrew Norelli and Timm Metivier hosting, Thursday, Oct. 23 through Sunday, Oct. 26. Shows are nightly at 8:30 and 10:30 p.m. and tickets are $34.95 and $44.95.

Wilson can be seen on a new one-hour comedy special for Image Entertainment, “Bigger Than You,” and has made appearances on all the popular talk shows, from “The Tonight Show” to “CBS This Morning.” He has also appeared in more than 30 feature films including his breakthrough role as the villain bully Biff Tannen in the 1985 film, “Back to the Future.” Subsequently, he appeared in the movie's sequels and voiced various Tannen relatives in the franchise's animated series and even wrote a song about them titled Biff's Question Song.” Wilson also voices many characters on Nickelodeon's “SpongeBob SquarePants.”

ANNUAL WORLD'S CHAMPIONSHIP CHILI COOKOFF HAPPENS DURING PBR

The PBR has partnered with the International Chili Society (ICS) to bring the 48^th Annual World's Championship Chili Cookoff (WCCC) to Las Vegas Oct. 24-26. For information, visit www.worldfinals.pbr.com.

Approximately 400 chili cooks from across the country will converge on Las Vegas and showcase their skills in four categories: Traditional Red Chili; Chili Verde; Salsa; and Home-style Chili. For three days the Tyson Fan Zone & Marketplace, which is located at the MGM Resorts Village across the Strip from the Luxor Hotel, will be the place to watch the chefs' culinary skills and sample some of the world's best chili. The ICS will invite approximately 350 judges to determine the 2014 World's Champions, presenting the overall World Champion with the grand prize of $25,000.

LEGAL GAY WEDDINGS BEGIN IN LAS VEGAS

With the change in Nevada law, gay weddings have begun in Las Vegas.

Caesars Entertainment properties in Las Vegas celebrated their first legal same-sex wedding performed at the Flamingo followed by a champagne toast on the High Roller observation wheel. All the wedding chapels at Caesars Entertainment owned and operated resorts in Las Vegas and the High Roller are offering 15 percent off same-sex renewals and ceremonies through March 1, 2015.

WOLFGANG PUCK SIGNS HIS BOOK AT DOWNTOWN SUMMERLIN EATERY

Award-winning chef and restaurateur Wolfgang Puck will sign copies of his newly released cookbook, “Wolfgang Puck Makes It Healthy: Light, Delicious Recipes and Easy Exercises for a Better Life” with more than 100 health-conscious recipes at his newest restaurant Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill at Downtown Summerlin on Nov. 18 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m This event is free and open to the public. Park on Fremont downtown is holding Parktoberfest Oct. 17-31. The adjacent lot to the venue has been turned into a rustic beer garden with hay bale seating, keg barrel tables, intimate string lighting and a grassy picnic area. Parktoberfest features live entertainment nightly with DJs and bands, multiple food offerings, specialty beers on tap, dancing, festival-style games such as beer pong and more. Parktoberfest runs from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. Tuesday-Friday and 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

The Junior League of Las Vegas will hold the fourth and final event “The Sands: A Place in the Sun” of The Sands Copa Connection Program Series, an entertainment and exhibition series spotlighting the former Sands Hotel and its legendary Copa Room. The event will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, in collaboration with the Nevada State Museum at the Springs Preserve.

The special museum exhibit, which will run through Nov. 24, will showcase vintage photos and promotional materials used by the Sands and a conversation with four noted Las Vegas historians: Dr. Michael Green, moderator, Sue Kim Chung, Dr. Larry Gragg and Dr. Eugene Moehring in a “Summit About the Sands.” The group will discuss the famed resort's impact during the l950s and 60s. A reception following the program will feature a book signing and Copa Room music played by the Thurston Howlies Band.

Henderson Stroll ‘n Roll, the community's largest free car-free street festival, will take place Saturday, Nov. 15 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Paseo Verde Parkway. Each night of riding competition, Oct. 22-26, PBR Rock Bar will host viewing parties at 6 p.m. and 1 p.m. on Sunday. The restaurant will have post-competition parties at 9 p.m. each night from Oct. 21 to 26. On Oct. 21 at 9 p.m. the Morgan Leigh Band will perform on the patio and celebrate the 21st birthday of the Professional Bull Riders. Thursday's Official Draw Party and Rider Q&A on Oct. 23 at 9 p.m. will feature live music from country music star Shane Lee at 9 and 11 p.m. and a Q&A session with the top 35 riders of the tournament as they draw to see which bulls they will be riding in Friday's competition.

Famed magicians Siegfried and Roy were on hand for the ground breaking of a new 20-acre park named after them. The $11.5 million project opening next summer is being developed by the Clark County Department of Aviation and will have a walking trail, two tennis courts, splash pad and playground equipment. It's a part of the final project in the Terminal 3 airport expansion and $4.5 million will be utilized in capital parks grants from Clark County.

California rockers Reckless in Vegas will perform a free concert at Mob Bar in the Downtown Grand on Saturday, Oct. 25 at 8 p.m. The band takes timeless classics such as “Luck Be a Lady” and make them completely new and different.

17° South, the tropical new restaurant inside Tahiti Village, will host NHRA racer and perennial fan favorite Terry McMillen for a special meet and greet to benefit SHE 5Life on Wednesday, Oct. 29 from 5 to 7 p.m. In addition guests can take an up-close-and-personal look at McMillen's one-of-a-kind pink dragster from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
