Even now, only the brave tackle the existing three thrill rides at the very top of the Stratosphere. Early next year, the resort's new venture "Insanity - The Ride" is scheduled to open and it will dangle riders and spin them literally over the edge of the observation deck more than 900 feet above the Strip. The ride will hold 10 passengers in "escape proof" seats as it spins them 40 miles per hour. The centrifugal force will be three Gs, and the ride will move 64 feet past the edge or the Stratosphere tower.

Dishes Buffet opened this month at Treasure Island now called TI. Inspired by the world's finest gourmet food markets, it features a global cuisine assortment with live-action exhibition stations such as Barbeque, Asian, Pasta Sauté, Salad, and Bakery. Dishes also offers a roving chili cart with two varieties of regional American chili that will change weekly.

On Friday and Saturday nights, Dishes presents "Swanky Dishes" offering a selection of upgraded entrée items available at each station such as Lobster Ravioli, Crab Legs, Peel and Eat Shrimp and assorted soufflés.

Dishes is the first buffet design for Jeffrey Beers, known for his dynamic designs including Isla Mexican Kitchen and Tequila Bar at TI and Tabú Ultra Lounge at the MGM Grand.

The energy of the action cooking stations is balanced by a subtle, warm feeling in the dining room of dark chocolate-covered woods and creamy walls. Granite marble, stainless steel countertops and colorful tiles add a modern twist with a sleek, rich feel. A large glass retail wall that is visible from the casino displays preserved spices, oils and ingredients, adds to the market-style buffet.
