The Rolling Stones will bring their "World Tour 2002 / 2003" to the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Saturday, Nov. 30. This will be one of 32 dates in the United States and Canada for the legendary rock quartet. The tour will begin on Sept. 3, in Boston. Tickets are $125, $250 and $350, call Ticketmaster 702-474-4000.

What will be truly unique about The Rolling Stones tour is they will create three different productions to play at three varying venues_stadiums, arenas and theatres/clubs. All the shows will feature a significant set of classic Rolling Stones hits as well as new songs.

The "Legendary Ladies of Rock 'n Roll" starring Lesley Gore, Shirley Alston Reeves, the original lead singer of the Shirelles, Little Peggy March and The Chiffons will grace the stage in the Wayne Newton Theater at the Stardust, July 10-13. Tickets are $29.95 per person, plus tax. For information, call 702-732-6325.

Steve Wynn, who built The Mirage and Bellagio, has unveiled construction plans for his biggest project ever, a $1.83 billion mega-resort with 2,701 rooms, an eight-story, man-made mountain enclosing a three-acre lake in front of the property, Wynn's private art collection and several private gambling areas.

Another innovative plan for Le Reve will be an on-site, full-service Ferrari and Maserati dealership. There will also be 18 dining outlets, a 2,080-seat showroom, a new water-based entertainment production, a new exclusive 18-hotel championship golf course, 78,200 square feet of retail shopping space, plus a 130,000-square-foot convention center.

Construction is slated to begin in September on the former site of the Desert Inn with Le Reve's opening scheduled for March 2005. This will be the first new mega-resort on the Strip since the Aladdin opened in August 2000.

Goo Goo Dolls, Third Eye Blind and Vanessa Carlton will share the stage at the Mandalay Bay Events Center on Saturday, Aug. 31. Tickets are $25, $30 and $45, call 702-632-7580.

The Goo Goo Dolls, formed in 1987, are touring in support of their most recent release "Gutterflower." Third Eye Blind released their self-titled debut album in 1997 and subsequently toured with rock icons the Rolling Stones and U2. Vanessa Carlton burst on the pop scene with the hit single "Thousand Miles," and "Rolling Stone Magazine" named her one of the "Top 10 Artists to Watch in 2002."

A touch of Hawaii has invaded the east side of Las Vegas with the opening of two imported restaurants... Roy's Restaurant and the Hawaiian Plantation House.

The famed Roy's Restaurant has opened its second location in the valley at 620 East Flamingo Road just a couple blocks off the Strip on June 15. Internationally acclaimed Chef Roy Yamaguchi, who holds the distinction of earning Hawaii's first prestigious James Beard Award, first introduced Roy's in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1988.

The chain of Roy's restaurants has become well known for its "Hawaiian-Fusion" cuisine - a tempting combination of exotic flavors and spices mixed with the freshest of local ingredients. Another trademark is the "aloha" style of service.

The 7,500-square-foot eatery features casual elegance and Roy's Signature Exhibition Kitchen with a total seating capacity for approximately 250 patrons. The lounge area can accommodate up to 50 and there's seating for 11 at the chef's counter. Two private dining rooms can seat 70 and 30. The average dinner is $45 a person. Roy's opens for dinner daily at 5 p.m., call 702-691-2053.

The Hawaiian Plantation House is a new 24-hour restaurant in Henderson located at 10940 South Eastern near Horizon Ridge. It opened on June 20 with authentic island-style cuisine.

The decor is reminiscent of the island's inviting atmosphere, from the brightly-hued tropical fish and coral in the aquarium to the teakwood bar, cushioned wicker furniture, faux Banyan tree and other foliage. The bar area with slot machines is separate from the restaurant.

Lunch is offered from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., dinner from 5:30 to 10 p.m., and Pauhana (Hawaiian for "done for the day") from 10:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. A variety of appetizers and smaller entrees are served during Pauhana.

The Hawaiian Plantation House features a specialty cocktail menu, offers a children's, or "Keiki," menu, and caters off-site events. For reservations or information, call 702-990-6341.

The chef at Picasso in Bellagio, Julian Serrano made Las Vegas culinary history by winning the James Beard Association's Best Chef: Southwest award, the first Beard award for a resident Las Vegas chef or restaurant. It was the second Beard award for Serrano, who previously won Best Chef: California in 1998. The Mobil and AAA organizations with Five Stars and Five Diamonds respectively have recognized Picasso.

Harrah's singing headliner Clint Holmes will change his 7:30 p.m. show time on July 4 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $59.95 plus tax.

"The Main Event," a production show about Frank Sinatra's life, at the Venetian closed silently and quietly around June 19 after an eight-week run.

An upscale 350-room Ritz-Carlton is scheduled to open next January 16 at Lake Las Vegas, a week before the Super Bowl. The 40,000-square-foot casino won't be far behind. Lake Las Vegas is located about 17 miles form the Las Vegas Strip.

Master illusionists Siegfreid & Roy are now in their 13th record-breaking year at The Mirage. With their careers more than solidly planted, the time has come for them to debut their first protege, 26 year old Darren Romeo. He has taken an afternoon 3 p.m. slot in the Siegfried & Roy Theatre. What makes Romeo stand out amongst his peers is the fact that he's a "singing magician," and a good one. Tickets are $30 with one drink included, call 702-792-7777.

The Scintas, a family act from Buffalo, New York, have signed a multi-year contract extension in the Rio's 700-seat Masquerade Showroom through March 2006. They opened at the Rio in April 2001. Tickets are $49.95 plus tax, call 702-777-7776.

Pronounced SHIN-TAHS, the family-foursome begins with Joe Scinta, the eldest brother who does a superb Joe Cocker impression and plays bass. He's also a comedic foil to younger brother Frank Scinta, who plays many instruments and does a wide range of impressions. The drummer, Peter O'Donnell is the only non- Sicilian Scinta. The younger sister, Chrissi Scinta, lights up the stage with her powerful soprano voice.

Over the years, the Scintas have performed for both Presidents Reagan and Clinton, and have played with numerous entertainment legends including Ray Charles, The Temptations and Rick James.

"Splash" at the Riviera has a special summer offer running through Aug. 31, to see the show and get a free Burger King Chicken Whopper. Then present the coupon at the Riviera Box Office for validation when you purchase an adult admission to "Splash."
