Dr. Phil, now famous for his nationally syndicated daily, one-hour series, will make an appearance at the Aladdin Theatre on March 15. Tickets for his 8 p.m. show are priced at $65, $77, $97 and $152, call the Aladdin Box Office at 702-785-5000.

A true diplomat in behavioral medicine with a PHD in clinical psychology, he has a phenomenal gift of "telling it like it is" and dishing out down-to-earth guidance to millions of fans. His down-home humor makes him a natural talent.

The Wiggles' "Wiggly Safari Tour" will visit the Aladdin Theatre for the Performing Arts on Feb. 5. Tickets are $15, $20 and $25, call 702-785-5000.

This famous Australian group comprised of four guys, three kindergarten teachers and an ex-rocker, are appealing to the under five set. Each fellow wears a bright color and exposes a distinctive personality. The one in yellow is clear-headed, in red is nurturing, in blue is hyper and the non-teacher in purple falls asleep.

The Wiggles have had a sold-out tour with their self-penned deceptively simple and repetitive songs. "The Wiggles" is Playhouse Disney's top-rated show. Already, the guys have sold close to four million videos in the United States and three million in Australia.

On Jan. 14, energetic singer Louie Louie will begin performing his urban contemporary sounds in the Wayne Newton Theater on Friday and Saturday nights at 11 p.m. Tickets for his late show will be $19.95 plus tax.

Louie Louie's first claim to fame was dancing in Madonna's "Borderline" video back in the `80s. From there he went on to release his first album "The State I'm In" and the single "Sittin' in the Lap of Luxury" in April 1990. On his second album, "Let's Get Started," in 1993, he worked with Prince on two songs.

Gaylord India Restaurant, an award-winning San Francisco mainstay for more than 20 years, has opened at the Rio bringing the resort's eateries to a total of 16 dining experiences. Gaylord serves Northern Indian cuisine featuring authentic Tandoori and Mughlai-style dishes.

The decor offers a romantic setting designed with rich jewel tone fabrics in a variety of textures, deep finished woods and authentic Indian artifacts.

Diners may select from combination dinners or "royal feasts in the Indian Manner," with a number of multiple course offerings available for one all-inclusive price. A lunch buffet is offered Monday through Friday, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for $14.95, and on Saturday and Sunday for $19.95. Dinner is nightly from 5 to 11 p.m., call 702-777-2277.

There's always a lot of fanfare when venues open in Las Vegas, but often times no mention when they close. Last year Caesars Magical Empire featuring dining and magic at Caesars Palace quietly closed its doors.

More recently, Bob Anderson's retro show at the Stardust closed and "The Birdman of Las Vegas" starring Joe Krathwohl is no longer being performed at the Tropicana.

Popular fighter Oscar De La Hoya, 29, has set a May 3 date to fight his opponent Yory Boy Campas in Las Vegas before boxing Shane Mosley here in September.

The Bellagio's Conservatory and Botanical Gardens has replaced the traditional holiday display with one celebrating the Year of the Sheep with a combination of Chinese cultural tradition and Feng Shui.

Placing great emphasis on traditional symbols and customs, the Conservatory is transformed into an environment that attracts luck, money and opportunities through Feb. 1. The new display has bamboo trees, Japanese Black Pines, a cascading waterfall, and an 18-foot tall God of Wealth and Fortune, which is the strongest symbol or prosperity and good fortune.

"Hypnolarious" starring Terry Stokes was suppose to open at the Union Plaza already and due to circumstances, it is opening tonight at the Bourbon Street Hotel & Casino across the street from Bally's on East Flamingo. The indefinite schedule is 10:30 p.m., Sunday through Thursday. Tickets are $39.95 plus tax with one drink included, call 702-360-5419.

Super Bowl weekend means a lot in Las Vegas considering more money is wagered in the betting town on that weekend than any other day of the year. Parties add to the excitement and feature big screen viewing.

One of the most expensive affairs is the $135 inclusive one at the Riviera, call 702-794-9280. The annual sell-out event includes a "Super Buffet" with open bars, surprise commemorative gifts, and drawings for sports memorabilia.

The big name line up this year at the Riviera includes Deacon Jones, an original member of the Los Angeles Rams' Fearsome Foursome, Danny White, all-pro quarterback and punter for the Dallas Cowboys, and Roger Craig, a San Francisco 49er who helped the team win three Super Bowl titles. The E2K Professional Cheerleaders will round out the activities.

Bally's will hold its party at 2:30 p.m. in the Jubilee! Theater. Tickets are $75 and include unlimited food, beer, wine and soft drinks, call 1-877-374-7469.

The Flamingo Las Vegas will hold three parties. Two $75 events are in ballrooms, the Savoy and the Silver State, with buffets and beverages. The third will be in the Second City Theater with a $100 price tag, and an upgraded buffet with beverages, call 1-800-221-7299.

The Las Vegas Hilton will have a party in the Hilton Center with Bacardi and Miller Girls, stadium-style food and beverages for $45 plus tax and handling fee, call 1-800-457-3307.

At Paris, the Super Bowl XXXVII Party in the Paris Theater des Arts showroom will include unlimited food, beer, wine and soft drinks for $75 at 2:30 p.m., call 1-877-374-7469.

The Barbary Coast on the Strip will hold a free party in the lounge with 75-cent hot dogs and $1 Coors Draft, plus cash drawings every quarter and door prizes.

The off-Strip Gold Coast will hold two parties, one in the showroom and another in the Arizona Ballroom. Both affairs are $25 and include pizza, hot dogs and popcorn, free Coors Draft and soft drinks and $1,500 cash giveaways, call 702-251-3574.

Another off-Strip property The Orleans will also hold two parties in the showroom and the Mardi Gras Ballroom for $39.95, call 702-365-7075. Stadium-style food, free Coors Draft and soft drinks and cash drink specials are part of this deal.

The J.W. Marriott Resort, located seven miles from the Las Vegas Strip, has two new ballrooms bringing the total meeting room capacity to 65,734 square feet.

The recently completed 12,320-square-foot Valencia Ballroom features a dramatic 30-foot vaulted rustic timber ceiling with Mediterranean d‚cor. Surrounding the room that can accommodate up to 1,100 guests are arched windows on three sides offering grand views.

The Marquis Ballroom with 14,627 square feet of meeting space is offering high speed Internet access, 48 NIC rated airwalls, and a state-of the-art sound system business center with a marble conference registration desk. The prefunction area is 4,620 square feet.

Master illusionist Lance Burton will appear on the television show "Street Smarts" that was filmed in the promenade area of the Monte Carlo Resort & Casino, where he headlines. Check your local listings when it airs on Monday, Jan. 27.

On Feb. 15, the Scorpions, Whitesnake and Dokken will make another trek to Las Vegas to perform at the Mandalay Bay Events Center. Tickets are $25, $35 and $55, call 702-632-7580.

The Winter Special at the Imperial Palace, which offers weekday night stays for $16 per person, per night based on double occupancy, is continuing through Jan. 30. The minimum two-night stay gives the second night free and additional weekday nights at the$16 rate.

Additionally, the Winter Special includes a free ticket to the "Legends in Concert" show when you purchase one ticket at a regular price, a free "Scratch Slotto" card, a blackjack match play, a free buffet dinner, and more.

The home of tomorrow, a 3,100-square-foot home that has the latest in high-tech features, is sitting in the Stardust Hotel's parking lot through January. The NextGen Demonstration Home is open to the public. Right now the public can take a virtual tour at www.nextgen03.com.

In early February, the two-story home that is screwed together will be disassembled and moved via five tractor-trailers. The event will be simulcast on the Internet.

The home is for sale with an estimated value of $425,000. Besides the three bedrooms and bathrooms, additional amenities include cathedral ceilings with decorate wood beams, ceiling fans and fireplaces. The home has the latest energy conservation features including a metal roof, a photovoltaic solar panel on the roof to convert sunlight into electricity, and a radiator instead of a traditional furnace that minimizes dust throughout the house and adds humidity.

The 2003 Wine Pairing Dinner Schedule for Cili Restaurant located at the Bali Hai Golf Club near Mandalay Bay will kick off on Jan. 21 with wines from Cakebread Cellars. The dinner is $125 inclusive, call 1-702-856-1000 and visit www.cili.com for information about other events.

The Sazio eatery inside The Orleans on West Tropicana will highlight Columbia Crest wines on Jan. 22. The dinner is $35, call 702-948-9500.

Spiedini located at the J.W. Marriott in the northwest part of the valley will feature Ferrari Carano wines on Jan. 29. The dinner is $65 plus tax and gratuity, call 702-869-2335.

The irresistible Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo will visit the Artemus Ham Concert Hall at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas campus near the Strip on Saturday, Jan. 25. Tickets are $19, $29 and $39, call 702-895-2787.

Founded in 1974, this company comprised of professional male dancers has toured worldwide. They perform the full range of ballet and modern dance, including classical and original works in faithful renditions of the dance styles. The comedy is achieved by incorporating and exaggerating the foibles, accidents, and underlying incongruities of serious dance. They are truly hilarious!
