MARIAH CAREY ANNOUNCES HEADLINING RESIDENCY AT CAESARS PALACE!

Mariah Carey, the iconic chanteuse and best-selling female artist of all time with more than 200 million records sold, made her announcement on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” that she is coming to Las Vegas with a headlining residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Her residency will start Wednesday, May 6, 2015, and tickets to her first 18 performances are on sale now and range from $55 to $250.

For the first time ever, Carey will perform all 18 of her timeless and beloved No. 1 hits together in one concert. Designed exclusively for The Colosseum, the production will also feature fan-favorite album cuts, never-before-performed selections and many more musical surprises.

In celebration of Carey's groundbreaking record, and in tandem with the concert series, Carey is working on a new edition of her worldwide best-selling album “#1's.” Set to include all 18 of her No. 1hits, along with newly recorded music, the album will be released later this year.

‘MENOPAUSE’ CLOSES AT LUXOR - OPENS AT HARRAH'S

After five years, the last show for the campy “Menopause the Musical” at the Luxor will be Jan. 18. The show will open Feb. 3 at The Improv at Harrah's taking over the 6 p.m. time slot that “Defending the Caveman” has occupied. The transition includes a stage expansion plus new set, costumes, and light and sound equipment.

After playing the Soap Star role in the show for nine years, the first four were at the Las Vegas Hilton, Paige O'Hara will take a break and leave the show when it closes at the Luxor. However, famous as the voice of Disney's Belle in the animated “Beauty and The Beast” movie, O'Hara does well selling her paintings of Belle and other Disney characters.

RIBBON CUTTING SIGNIFIES TOM'S URBAN IS OPEN AT NEW YORK-NEW YORK

Tom's Urban is a modern and casual dining concept now open at New York-New York serving food for breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night. There's an inside entrance located on the casino floor and an outdoor entry adjacent to the resort's iconic Brooklyn Bridge. The 12,000-square-foot venue features a contemporary dining experience offering innovative, yet familiar dishes coupled with a creative bar program.

Tom's Urban has a guest capacity of more than 480 people for both indoor and outdoor seating, complete with three full-service bars. The restaurant's décor is infused with reclaimed wood and warm colors.Hours are 6 a.m. until the last cocktail goes down.

WYNN HERALDS KASKADE'S RETURN WITH EXCLUSIVE RESIDENCY

Multi-GRAMMY-nominated recording artist and producer, Kaskade, has established a multi-year exclusive residency with Wynn Las Vegas daylife and nightlife venues - Encore Beach Club and XS Nightclub. Wynn resort was Kaskade's first exclusive residency in Las Vegas in 2010 at Encore Beach Club at the start of his unprecedented career in dance music. He will return on Friday, Jan. 30.

NEW ARTISTS ADDED AND TICKET SALES START FOR ROCK IN RIO USA

Rock in Rio, the legendary music festival celebrating its 30th anniversary, has revealed additional artists for the lineup of its first stateside edition, taking place May 8-9 and May 15-16 in Las Vegas over four days at the City of Rock, a permanent open-air venue being built on The Strip.

During a press event last week at the Village Studios in Los Angeles, Charli XCX performed an acoustic set and lineup additions were announced. New acts for the first weekend, dedicated to rock music, include The Pretty Reckless and Hollywood Undead on the Main Stage, as well as Foster the People, Gary Clark Jr, Bleachers, Saints of Valory and Of Mice & Men on the Sunset Stage. They join previously announced Main Stage performers No Doubt, Metallica, Linkin Park and Maná, and Sunset Stage artists Deftones, Sepultura (featuring Steve Vai) and Coheed and Cambria.

The second weekend, will feature a pop-centric lineup with Sam Smith, Echosmith, Empire of the Sun and Ivete Sangalo added on the Main Stage, and Charli XCX, Tove Lo, Magic!, James Bay and Mikky Ekko added on the Sunset Stage. Previously announced second weekend performers include Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars and Ed Sheeran on the Main Stage, as well as John Legend and Joss Stone on the Sunset Stage.

Tickets for the festival go on sale Jan. 20 at RockInRio.com/Tickets. General admission weekend passes are $298 and VIP daily passes available are $498.

BARDOT BRASSERIE PRESENTS AVANT-GARDE BEVERAGE PROGRAM

BARDOT Brasserie, Michael Mina's new French concept at Aria debuted a beverage program inspired by France's passion for incredible spirits, wine and beer upon opening Friday, Jan.16. BARDOT introduced its own signature French beer, Hors D'âge, brewed exclusively for the restaurant in the northern hills of France. Guests can select from vintage cognacs dating back to the 1800s as well as Las Vegas' largest collection of Chartreuse. BARDOT serves dinner daily from 5 to 10:30 p.m. with brunch offered on Saturday and Sunday between 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

SPEEDWAY HOLDS FIFTH ANNUAL LAPS FOR CHARITY

The fifth annual Laps for Charity event will take place on Sunday, Jan. 25 from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. NASCAR fans and car enthusiasts will have the opportunity to drive their personal vehicles around the superspeedway to benefit the Las Vegas Chapter of Speedway Children's Charities. Drivers can take three laps for a donation of $30 and can buy three additional laps for $20. Participants can also get a photo with their car in the speedway's Victory Lane for a $10 donation.

Added this year is a “Drive Under the Lights” option, where drivers can make four laps under the lights beginning at 5 p.m. for a $40 donation.

THE MOB MUSEUM PARTNERS WITH PLAZA ON FIRST TRAVELING EXHIBIT

The Mob Museum downtown has partnered with the Plaza on a brand-new exhibition that will remain on view until June 30, 2015. The exhibit includes the John Gotti car and informational signage. Part of the museum collection since 2011, the Gotti car is a 1972 Jaguar XKE Convertible. The car was a gift to Gotti from veteran Gambino Family mobster Greg DePalma, who gave the car to Gotti to curry favor with the “Teflon Don.” Its original price was approximately $7,500.

Informational displays feature photographs and text spotlighting prominent “Sin City Mobsters,” such as Benjamin “Bugsy” Siegel and Tony “The Ant” Spilotro, whose Las Vegas associations are inextricably linked with the city's history.

Another graphic display addresses some of the iconic Las Vegas resorts - such as The Flamingo and the El Cortez - which were once famously associated with Mob ownership.

In addition, the Plaza is home to Oscar's Steakhouse. The restaurant's namesake. Oscar Goodman, was formerly a prominent Mob defense attorney as well as mayor of Las Vegas.

SCHEDULED BEER AND WINE PAIRING DINNERS

Lagasse's Stadium® at The Palazzo Las Vegas® is teaming up again with Samuel Adams to host a five-course beer pairing dinner featuring a selection of premium craft beers on Friday, Jan. 23 at 6 p.m. Cost is $55, call 702-607-2665.

Jalisco Cantina at 3460 E. Sunset at Pecos will hold its third wine pairing event on Thursday, Jan. 29 at 6 p.m. The featured wines will be Kendall Jackson: Pinot Gris; Sauvignon Blanc; Pinot Noir; Summation; and Cabernet Sauvignon. The cost is $25, call 702-436-5200.

Charlie Palmer's Aureole at Mandalay Bay will unite with Darioush winery for an exclusive six-course wine pairing dinner Thursday, Feb. 5 at 6:30 p.m. Mandalay Bay's Director of Wine, Harley Carbery, along with winery proprietor Darioush Khaledi and president Dan de Polo, will host the event guide guests through each course. Tickets are $225.

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY LAS VEGAS HITS 100TH HOME MILESTONE

In collaboration with MGM Resorts International (NYSE: MGM) and the City of Henderson, Habitat for Humanity Las Vegas will raise the walls on its 100th home on Jan. 31. Sponsored by MGM Resorts with funding for the land received from the City of Henderson via grants, the 100th home is one of six single-family Habitat homes slated for construction in Henderson's Pittman region. Since 1991, Habitat Las Vegas has provided simple, decent and affordable homes for low-income families.

HAKKASAN'S WISHING TREE-FESTIVE FEAST HONOR CHINESE NEW YEAR

This Chinese New Year, Hakkasan will be honoring the Chinese “Wishing Tree” tradition by collecting wishes from around the world and offering a special eight-course festive feast from Sunday, Feb. 8 to Sunday, March 1. Inspired by the “Wishing Tree” in Hong Kong, all Hakkasan locations across the globe are inviting guests to share their hopes for 2015 by writing their wishes on specially designed wishing ribbons placed throughout the restaurants during the festive period. The Chinese New Year menu is $136.88. A la carte items will be individually priced, starting at $20.88.

Hakkasan Nightclub in Las Vegas will also partake with a two-week affair featuring interactive performances and décor that will add to the grand celebration. To welcome the start of the Year of the Sheep, Hakkasan will feature the lion dance as part of the epicenter of the restaurant's celebration on Thursday, Feb. 19. Lion troupes will make their way through the intimate latticed woodwork cages of Hakkasan, offering symbolic expressions of luck, fortune, wisdom and joy.

JAMIE LISSOW HEADLINES LAUGH FACTORY AT TROPICANA

Jamie Lissow will be headlining the Laugh Factory at the New Tropicana resort alongside Francisco Ramos and host Jay Reid, Jan. 19-25, with show times at 8:30 and 10:30 p.m.

Lissow, a native of Rochester, N.Y., graduated from Fredonia State with a degree in mathematics and psychology. He abandoned his plan of becoming a lawyer, and instead entered the world of stand-up comedy. Lissow has appeared on “The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn,” NBC's “Late Friday,” “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” Comedy Central's “Premium Blend” and is a proud “Star Search” loser. Recurringly he can also be seen on Fox News Channel's “Red Eye.”

Ramos's TV credits include the new pilot “Tribeca,” that was directed by Steve Carell, the Byron Allen syndicated show “The First Family,” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” He has created memorable characters in animation as the voice of Marmoset in the movie “Rio,” as well as a voice for the film “Marmaduke.” He continues to tour worldwide as a stand-up comic, including a one-month stop in Afghanistan to perform for U.S. troops.

Since age 19, Las Vegas native Jay Reid has been entertaining audiences in small clubs throughout his hometown, and has since appeared in comedy venues from Los Angeles to Iraq. Reid's first big break came when he was chosen to be a contestant on BET's “Coming to the Stage” comedy competition. He was featured in the blockbuster movie “21” starring Kevin Spacey and recently appeared on Showtime's comedy special “Bill Bellamy's Ladies Night Out Comedy Tour.”

ANDRÉ ROCHAT CELEBRATE 35TH ANNIVERSARY IN LAS VEGAS IN 2015

In 1980, French-born chef André Rochat changed the face of Las Vegas' dining industry when he introduced the city's first freestanding fine dining experience. Thirty-five years later, he is revered and credited as the chef who introduced Las Vegas to gourmet dining. Rochat and his staff will celebrate this milestone throughout 2015 at his two restaurants, Alizé at The Top of Palms and Andre's Restaurant & Lounge at Monte Carlo.

Throughout 2015, both restaurants will celebrate with ongoing specials. This celebration includes 35 percent off wines from now through Dec. 31 at both establishments for early evening reservations; and loyal guests, those who dine four times or more in 2015, will receive a complimentary fifth dinner for two valued at $200.

Additional promotions and special offers will be announced later in 2015, along with a spectacular lineup of chefs for a special, one-night only celebration for Rochat.

MISCELLANEOUS WEEKLY CLIPS

Beginning Monday, Jan. 26, “PIN UP™,” the Stratosphere's original production show inspired by the classic pin up girls of the 1940s, 50s and 60s and featuring Playboy's 2011 Playmate of the Year® Claire Sinclair, will move its performance time one hour earlier to 9:30 p.m. in the Stratosphere Theater.

Sherry Gordy's “Take The Stage” variety show at Fiesta Rancho at 8 p.m. will be filmed for TV on Jan. 22 with a stellar lineup including: Mickey Stevenson, who worked with Sherry's dad Berry Gordy during the Motown heyday and wrote some of Motown's greatest hits such as “Dancing In The Streets,” “It Takes Two, Baby;” Marshall Thompson of the Chi-Lites; N'Demand; 2 Of A Kind; Terrance & Gwen Forsythe; and surprise guests. UFC Flyweight Joby Sanchez will host a fight night viewing party for the UFC 183: Anderson “The Spider” Silva vs. Nick Diaz at The Sports Bar at Crazy Horse III on Saturday, Jan. 31 starting at 5 p.m.

Rock Rink at Downtown Summerlin will close for the season on Monday, Jan. 19.

The interactive murder mystery dinner party “I Don't Have A Clue” running Tuesday and Thursday nights at Bally's Windows Showroom will close Jan. 31. The naughty satire “50 Shades! The Parody” will open Feb. 3 and run Tuesday at 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. and Wednesday-Sunday at 7:30 p.m.

South Point will host the sixth annual Big City Showdown (BCS) with Las Vegas' top high school basketball teams, Findlay College Prep and Bishop Gorman, taking the court for a match on Saturday, Jan. 24 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. Floor seats are $20.

For the eighth year, “Black Enterprise” magazine has named MGM Resorts International one of the “40 Best Companies for Diversity” in the United States for its diversity and inclusion practices. MGM Resorts is the only company in the gaming industry, and the only company in Nevada, to be named to the magazine's list this year.

MERCADITO STARTS TACO CHALLENGE AND ALL YOU CAN EAT TACOS

Mercadito at Red Rock now offers All You Can Eat Tacos every Sunday and Monday and invites guests to enjoy as many of their favorite tacos all day long for $19.50. In addition, taco lovers can take the Mercadito Taco Challenge for bragging rights beginning Feb. 1, which allows guests to gain taco fame by downing 32 or more tacos in one hour. WALK WITH THE HEART OF A CHILD RETURNS TO FASHION SHOW MALL

The 12th Annual Walk with the Heart of a Child is set for Saturday, Feb. 28 at 8 a.m. at the Fashion Show Mall and supports Nevada-based Children's Heart Foundation (CHF). This fundraiser includes a fun walk, entertainment, raffle and Kids Zone. More than 2,000 locals support the walk each year.
